Description
Artesunate is a fast-acting semi-synthetic artemisinin analog. It eliminates the asexual blood-stage malaria parasites, rapidly reduces fever and parasite load. Oral suspension formulation features quick absorption, mild irritation, suitable for oral administration in pediatric and adult patients.
Indications
Treatment of uncomplicated falciparum malaria
Therapy for Plasmodium vivax and other malaria infections
Routine antimalarial first-line oral treatment
Storage
Seal tightly, store in a cool and dry place, protect from light.
Avoid freezing.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
For oral use only.
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to artesunate or artemisinin derivatives.
Use with caution in hepatic or renal impairment.
Adverse reactions: mild nausea, dizziness, abdominal discomfort, transient weakness.
Complete the full treatment course to prevent malaria recurrence and drug resistance.
Caution in first trimester pregnancy, use only if prescribed by a physician.
