Alpha-Lipoic Acid Injection 5mL:125mg is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, clear, yellow solution of alpha-lipoic acid (thioctic acid) intended for intravenous infusion (preferred) or intramuscular injection. Each 5mL ampoule contains 125mg of alpha-lipoic acid. Alpha-lipoic acid is a naturally occurring endogenous compound that functions both as a cofactor for mitochondrial enzyme complexes and as a potent antioxidant. The injectable formulation is intended for use when oral administration is not feasible, and is used as an adjunctive antioxidant and metabolic support agent, particularly in conditions associated with oxidative stress and impaired nerve function.
