Citicoline Injection 250mg/2mL is a sterile, aqueous solution of citicoline sodium intended for parenteral administration. Each 2mL ampoule contains citicoline sodium equivalent to 250mg of citicoline at a concentration of 125mg/mL. Citicoline, also known as cytidine 5′-diphosphocholine (CDP-choline), is an endogenous nucleoside derivative that serves as an essential intermediate in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine, the major phospholipid component of neuronal cell membranes. It is widely used as a neuroprotective and cerebral metabolic support agent in the management of various neurological conditions where neuronal membrane integrity and cerebral metabolic function may be compromised.
