Acyclovir Eye Drops is a synthetic nucleoside antiviral ophthalmic preparation with strong inhibitory activity against herpes viruses, especially herpes simplex virus (HSV‑1 and HSV‑2). It selectively inhibits viral DNA replication, with little effect on normal host cells.
It is mainly used for the treatment of herpes simplex keratitis, herpes conjunctivitis, and other ocular infections caused by varicella‑zoster virus.
