L-Carnitine Injection 2mL:500mg is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, clear solution of L-carnitine intended for intramuscular or slow intravenous injection. Each 2mL ampoule contains 500mg of L-carnitine. L-carnitine (levocarnitine) is a naturally occurring compound derived from the amino acids lysine and methionine, which plays an essential role in the transport of long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane for beta-oxidation and energy production. The injectable formulation is intended for use in the prevention and treatment of carnitine deficiency states when oral administration is not feasible or when rapid repletion is required.
