Description
Metronidazole Injection is a nitroimidazole antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent. It acts on anaerobic bacteria and sensitive protozoa by disrupting nucleic acid synthesis, showing strong bactericidal activity against most pathogenic anaerobes.
Indications
Treatment of anaerobic infections: abdominal, pelvic, respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections
Sepsis, osteomyelitis, meningitis caused by susceptible anaerobes
Prophylaxis of postoperative anaerobic infection
Amoebiasis, trichomoniasis and other protozoal infections
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
For intravenous infusion only.
Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to metronidazole or nitroimidazoles.
Use with caution in hepatic or renal insufficiency, epilepsy, or neurological diseases.
Alcohol is strictly prohibited during use (disulfiram-like reaction).
Use under medical supervision.
