Description
Pepsin is a key acid-stable protease secreted by gastric chief cells, activated by gastric hydrochloric acid. It specifically hydrolyzes protein and polypeptide chains, decomposes macromolecular protein into small peptides and amino acids, assists gastrointestinal digestion and nutrient absorption, commonly used for hypoacidity and protein dyspepsia.
Indications
- Dyspepsia caused by insufficient gastric acid or pepsin deficiency
- Bloating, postprandial fullness and poor protein digestion
- Functional dyspepsia, chronic atrophic gastritis adjuvant treatment
- Indigestion in elderly, weak and convalescent patients
Storage
Seal tightly, store in cool dry place, keep away from moisture, high temperature and strong alkali.
Warning
Oral use only.
Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to pepsin.
Inactivated in neutral/alkaline environment, avoid combined use with antacids.
