Description
Diphenhydramine Injection is a competitive H₁ histamine receptor antagonist. It relieves smooth muscle spasm, reduces capillary permeability, alleviates allergic symptoms, and also has sedative, antiemetic and antitussive effects.
Indications
Acute allergic reactions: anaphylaxis, urticaria, angioedema, drug eruptions
Pruritus and dermatitis accompanied by severe itching
Motion sickness prevention and treatment
Preoperative sedation and antiemetic adjuvant therapy
Parkinsonism and extrapyramidal reactions
Storage
Store sealed in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
Prescription drug for intramuscular or intravenous use only.
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to diphenhydramine or similar antihistamines.
Use with caution in narrow-angle glaucoma, asthma, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, and in the elderly.
May cause drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth; avoid driving or operating machinery after use.
