Description
Iron Sucrose Injection is a complex of ferric hydroxide and sucrose, a stable intravenous iron supplement. It supplies iron directly to the body, promotes hemoglobin synthesis and erythropoiesis, effectively correcting iron deficiency anemia without significant gastrointestinal irritation.
Indications
Treatment of iron deficiency anemia in patients who cannot tolerate oral iron preparations
Iron deficiency anemia in inflammatory bowel disease, chronic kidney disease, perioperative anemia, and other conditions with impaired oral iron absorption
Anemia during pregnancy when oral iron is ineffective or not feasible
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Do not freeze.
Warning
Prescription drug for intravenous injection/infusion only.
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to iron sucrose or excipients, hemochromatosis, non-iron deficiency anemia, and severe liver dysfunction.
Test dose is recommended before initial administration.
Use with caution in patients with asthma, hepatic or renal impairment, and during pregnancy.
Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions during infusion.
