Product Overview

Lactated Ringer’s Injection 500mL is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, isotonic, balanced crystalloid solution intended for intravenous infusion. Each 100mL of solution contains 600mg of sodium chloride, 310mg of sodium lactate, 30mg of potassium chloride, and 20mg of calcium chloride dihydrate in Water for Injections. The electrolyte composition per liter provides 130 mEq of sodium (Na+), 4 mEq of potassium (K+), 3 mEq of calcium (Ca2+), 109 mEq of chloride (Cl−), and 28 mEq of lactate (as sodium lactate), with a total osmolarity of approximately 273 mOsm/L, which is isotonic with respect to normal human plasma (approximately 285–295 mOsm/L). Lactated Ringer’s Injection is one of the most widely used balanced crystalloid solutions for intravenous fluid and electrolyte replacement, serving as a source of water, electrolytes, and a bicarbonate precursor (lactate), and is used in the management of dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, mild metabolic acidosis, and as a maintenance or replacement fluid in various clinical settings, including perioperative care, trauma resuscitation, and acute illness.
