Netilmicin Injection 100mg/2mL is a sterile, aqueous solution of netilmicin sulfate intended for parenteral administration. Each 2mL ampoule contains netilmicin sulfate equivalent to 100mg of netilmicin base, providing a concentration of 50mg/mL. Netilmicin is a semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibacterial agent, derived from sisomicin by the addition of an ethyl group at the 1-N position, which confers enhanced stability against certain aminoglycoside-inactivating enzymes and may contribute to a more favorable safety profile compared with other aminoglycosides. It is widely used in the management of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible aerobic Gram-negative organisms.
