Description
Cimetidine is a classic histamine H2 receptor antagonist. It significantly inhibits basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion, reduces gastric acid volume and acidity, and relieves mucosal erosion and inflammatory irritation. It is widely used for the treatment and prevention of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders.
Indications
Treatment of gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and reflux esophagitis
Prevention and treatment of stress ulcer and hemorrhagic gastritis
Upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by excessive gastric acid
Symptomatic relief of hyperacidity and epigastric pain
Storage
Store tightly sealed at room temperature, protect from light.
Do not freeze.
Check for clarity and visible particles prior to infusion.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
For intravenous infusion only.
Contraindicated in patients with cimetidine hypersensitivity.
Use with caution in hepatic and renal insufficiency, elderly patients.
May interact with multiple metabolic drugs; adjust dosage as needed.
Long-term high-dose use requires regular physical monitoring.
