Description
Gentamicin Injection is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibacterial agent. It acts on bacterial 30S ribosomal subunits to inhibit protein synthesis, with strong bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-negative bacteria and some Gram-positive bacteria.
Indications
Severe respiratory tract, urinary tract, biliary tract, abdominal cavity, and wound infections
Sepsis, neonatal sepsis, meningitis
Burn and post-operative infections caused by sensitive strains
Adjunctive treatment for tuberculosis and atypical mycobacterial infections
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
Prescription drug for intramuscular or intravenous use only.
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to gentamicin or aminoglycosides.
Use with caution in renal insufficiency, hearing impairment, elderly, neonates, and pregnancy.
Monitor renal function, hearing and vestibular function during treatment.
Avoid concurrent use with other ototoxic or nephrotoxic drugs.
