Description
Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole derivative. It selectively acts on anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, inhibiting microbial DNA synthesis and causing bacterial death. It has precise curative effect, strong targeting property, and is widely applied in clinical anaerobic infectious diseases.
Indications
Various infections caused by anaerobic bacteria: abdominal, pelvic, respiratory, skin and soft tissue infections
Septicemia and bacterial peritonitis
Intestinal and extraintestinal amebiasis, trichomoniasis
Perioperative prevention of anaerobic bacterial infection
Storage
Seal tightly, store in a cool dry place, protect from light.
Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
For intravenous infusion only.
Contraindicated in patients with metronidazole hypersensitivity, severe blood and nervous system diseases.
Prohibit alcohol during medication and within 72 hours after withdrawal to avoid disulfiram-like reaction.
Common side effects include nausea, dizziness and metallic taste.
Use with caution in hepatic insufficiency, pregnant and lactating women.
