Description
Omeprazole Injection is a potent proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It specifically inhibits H⁺/K⁺-ATPase in gastric parietal cells, strongly suppressing basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion, raising gastric pH, and helping to control acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding rapidly.
Indications
Acute bleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers
Stress ulcers and acute gastric mucosal lesions
Severe reflux esophagitis
Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
Perioperative prevention of gastric acid aspiration
Storage
Store sealed in a cool, dry place, protected from light.
Reconstituted solution should be used immediately.
Keep out of reach of children.
Warning
Prescription drug for intravenous injection/infusion only.
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to omeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Use with caution in hepatic insufficiency.
May interfere with metabolism of certain concomitant drugs.
Use under medical supervision.
